《都市侠盗》类似现代版的罗宾汉与《十一罗汉》的综合体，讲述了一群各怀绝技的飞天大盗行侠仗义的故事。奥斯卡奖获得者Timothy Hutton出演男一号。 该剧由Dean Devlin（《独立日》， 《图书管理员》）任导演， John Rogers（《变形金刚》，《地心末日》）和 Chris Downey（《后中之王》）编剧，并由Devlin和Roger共同监制。TNT高级策划Michael Wright看了试播集后这样评论本剧，“《都市侠盗》是一部节奏紧凑，构思巧妙，诙谐有趣的好剧；Timothy Hutton是一个非常杰出的演员，他和他的伙伴表演的很有火花：这是一部取得了突破性成绩的电视剧，与Dean合作我非常开心。” 剧中Hutton 饰演的Nate Ford，是一个为他的雇主找回丢失货物的白金保险调查员：在他的公司拒绝为他将死的儿子支付保险金之后，辞掉了工作成为一名自由职业者，而他的第一份工作是为一名航空工程师找回被盗的飞机设计。 出演该剧的明星还有Beth Riesgraf 《艾尔文与花栗鼠》，Christian Kane （《天使》，《律政俏主妇》），Aldis Hodge （《胜利之光》）以及Gina Bellman （《冤家对对碰》，《化身博士》），他们在剧中都是“纳特一伙”的成员。
